The
Board of Directors and management of Notla Water Authority would
like to welcome you to the water system. The Authority presently
has 3700 metered accounts. In the past few years, the water system
has doubled in size. While the growth has allowed Notla to operate
with minimal water rates compared to other systems statewide, this
growth has necessitated several improvements that are needed to
continue to provide improved water quality and an adequate water
supply within our geographic boundaries of Union County.
Notla was awarded a 4.5 million dollar loan and grant for Rural
Economical Development Authority for a water system improvement
project. The improvement project will consist of:
Construction of a million gallon per day surface water treatment
plant on Lake Notla near the dam. The property is to be provided
by the Tennessee Valley Authority at no cost.
Install 155,000 linear feet of six, eight, and ten inch water lines
with additional fire hydrant along these new lines.
Build an additional 300,000 gallon ground storage tank in the Gumlog
area including a new booster pump station. This will increase storage
capacity from 1.2 million gallons to 1.5 million gallons.
Notla Water Authority is governed by a five member board. The Board
is selected from the members of Notla Water Authority, by the members,
at our annual meeting. Each board members serves a five-year term.
The Notla Board of Directors are paid no fees for our services.
We volunteer our time to better the water system for everyone concerned.
If you have any questions, you may contact the management of the
Notla Water Authority at 706-745-4598.
Sincerely,
Notla Water Authority Board of Directors:
